Do you photograph weddings outside of Toronto?

Absolutely! I am based out of both Toronto and Collingwood, and love to travel to new locations for weddings! I often find myself covering weddings from Muskoka, to Killarney, to Cambridge, and am always game for a new location. Travel to any location within two hours of the GTA or Collingwood is included in the package pricing. Additional travel for weddings farther afield in Ontario, across Canada, or internationally are priced upon request.

How many photos do we receive?

The number of photos you receive varies based on what collection you choose. On average, a full day of wedding coverage will finish with between 600 - 800 photographs. Engagement sessions finish with around 100 photographs. I deliver these in both high resolution (ready for print) and web resolution (ready for social media) so you can use them however you would like!

How long do we have to patiently wait to receive our photos?

I always deliver full wedding galleries within a maximum of 8 weeks from the wedding date. Usually you will get to see your wedding gallery sooner! Engagement sessions are delivered within 3 weeks. I know it can feel like a long time to wait for your photographs, so I always deliver a small gallery of ‘sneak peek’ images within a few days of your wedding or engagement session so you have something to share with friends and family right away! Turn around time for albums varies based on how quickly we move through the design process together, however you can expect to receive your album and final package within 4 weeks of completing the design process with me.

What package should we book?

Don’t worry if you’re not sure what package you would like to book right away. Chances are you’re at the beginning of your wedding planning process when we first start our conversation, so I absolutely don’t expect you to know what your schedule looks like and how many hours of coverage you need! Whatever package you book will remain flexible leading up to the wedding date, so we can add or remove hours from your package based on your individual schedule as it comes together.

How far in advance should we book you, and what is your booking process?

Most couples book between 6 - 12 months in advance, and sometimes as early as 2 years in advance. I am happy to take on last minute bookings as well should I have the date free, so it never hurts to inquire. I do love a good last minute elopement or relaxed restaurant wedding! I will always make sure to connect with you either in person over a cup of coffee or glass of wine, or via facetime before we move ahead with booking your date. I believe it’s so important that you feel like we have a good personal connection, so I always insist on a meeting to get to know one another first! Once you’re ready to move ahead with your booking, to secure a date on my calendar I take a 50% nonrefundable booking deposit along with a signed contract. The remaining balance is due a week before the wedding. I’m happy to discuss a custom payment plan that works best for you.

We’re nervous to have our photograph taken, what is your approach?

First off, don’t worry! Almost everyone who steps in front of the camera is nervous to begin with. Personally, I get great ‘t-rex arms’ when you point the camera at me, so I feel ya. We make sure to steer clear of highly posed, formal photography, and instead emphasize getting the two of you moving around, interacting, and generally having a great time together while I take photos from the outside. I come equipped with a pile of posing prompts and activities, as well as an embarrassing number of bad dad jokes to keep you moving, smiling, and laughing. A large number of the photos I take on a wedding day are candid shots as well, so for most of the day you shouldn’t even be aware that I’m there taking photographs. Aside from your engagement session and couples photographs, most wedding day photos unfold naturally!

What is a fine art wedding album?

That’s my fancy professional photographer way of saying a photo album. The difference between the albums I create and an album you can order through iphoto is in the quality of the printing. ‘Fine art’ refers to the high quality of the print medium, meaning that your album will be an heirloom piece that should not warp, fade, or discolor for a lifetime. Additionally, I work closely with my printing labs so that they understand my colour preferences in detail. The colour and luminosity of a photograph will be different between a computer screen and a printed page, and my printing labs know just how to work with my images to make sure that they are preserved in print looking just how they were intended to. Printing your wedding photographs is an important step in the process, and I work with high quality professional labs to make sure your memories are preserved beautifully and safely!
