Nicole and Graham's Outdoor Summer Tent Wedding at Silver Springs Retreat, Georgian Bay

Nicole and Graham flew in from New York to host their wedding at Silver Springs Resort, a gorgeous private country venue in Flesherton, just minutes from Collingwood and Georgian Bay.  They opted for an entirely outdoor wedding, and the day was beyond stunning.  With an outdoor ceremony by the pond, photographs in the sprawling country fields, a dance floor under the stars surrounded by twinkle lights, and a gorgeous open air tent filled with hanging lanterns for the reception, this outdoor wedding is what dreams are made of.

Nicole didn’t hesitate to do things her own way, and was honestly one of my favourite brides to photograph last year.  She rocked red pumps under a silky slip wedding dress, opted for an all white orchid bouquet, and chose to get their wedding cakes from their favourite restaurant, Momofuko.  She and Graham enjoyed their day to the fullest, opting for a first look and the chance to take most of their photographs before the ceremony so that they could spend as much time as possible visiting with their guests during their garden party style cocktail hour.  Getting to capture cocktail hour with the bride and groom there is one of my favourite chances for candid photographs ever, and they did not disappoint.  They strolled through the grass, sipping cocktails, visiting with their guests on picnic blankets, and Nicole even tried her hand at fly fishing in one of the ponds where a family member was casting his line!

Their classic and timeless style made photographs a breeze, opening up so much more time for natural and candid shots of the whole day from start to finish.  Guests were fed at sunset under the tent canopy, seated at long harvest style tables lit by huge Chinese lanterns suspended overhead.  Nicole and Graham spent their dinner hour alternately listening to speeches, and strolling the long aisles between the tables, taking time to visit with every single guest who had traveled there to be with them.

To finish the night, the couple slipped away for a few minutes to change into a second outfit, before reappearing and wowing their crowd with a swing dancing routine they had learned for their first dance.

If you’re considering an all outdoor wedding, this is the day for you!  Checkout this gallery for an inspiring peaked tent design, a beautiful floral arch by the water, and the best reception and dance floor lighting around.
